Caught off guard by your period while out in public with no products on hand? What do you do?
It’s a situation no one wants to face—but luckily, CBPL is excited to provide a solution.
Free menstrual products are now available in all public washrooms across CBPL branches. We hope this small step contributes to period equity and makes a meaningful difference in our community.
In Canada, 1 in 6 people who menstruate have personally experienced period poverty* — they can’t access menstrual products due to financial constraints.
Period equity means having equal access to menstrual products, as well as education about sexual and reproductive health.
Lack of access can lead to serious health consequences such as infections or toxic shock syndrome. Period equity is not just a matter of convenience—it’s a public health issue.
