Welcome to the 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program, an engaging reading challenge for caregivers and their newborns, infants, and/or toddlers.What you'll do: read 1000 books with your child before they start Kindergarten. Research shows that reading with your child creates a wonderful bonding opportunity, lifelong love of reading, and early literacy benefits.Reading one book/night equals 365 books in a year. That's 730 books in two years, and 1095 books in three years!

Reading is tracked online at brantlibrary.ca/Beanstack. Library staff are available to help.
A reading tracker is included in your welcome package and available for pick up from your local branch, allowing you to keep track of the number of books you read and make notes about your child's favourite titles.
Reading milestones
Each time you reach a milestone, visit your local branch and collect a prize:- Welcome package: Reading tracker and a new board book
- 500 books read: Library book bag
- 1000 books read: Brag tag and new book
