Encourage a love of reading throughout the year

We offer a variety of Reading Challenges throughout the year to keep young readers engaged and "on the right page".

Accessible materials

This year, the pre-school and school-age notebooks have been designed to be more inclusive by including larger font sizes and adding more white space to allow the reader to focus more easily on the content.

Please visit the Accessibility page of the TD Summer Reading Club website to find electronic versions of the notebook in e-text, audio, and braille.

Stop the summer slide

Studies show that school-age children lose some of their reading ability over the summer months if they do not continue to read while they are out of school. Summer reading programs help maintain academic achievement and are a proven tool to help bridge this gap.

The TDSRC inspires kids to explore the fun of reading their way. The benefits of the Club are clear: recent surveys indicate that 87% of kids read more often or the same amount over the summer, and 96% of parents/caregivers agreed that their child maintained or improved their reading skills over the summer!
