New books (available as a prize for participants who have read 24 Hours) are now available to choose and pick up from your local library branch. Connect with staff and claim your well-earned prize!
We offer a variety of Reading Challenges throughout the year to keep young readers engaged and "on the right page".
We have club materials for children with print disabilities*. Please email our Children's Services staff or call the Paris Branch to request your accessible materials.
(*A print disability is a learning, physical, or visual disability that prevents a person from reading conventional print.)
Studies show that school-age children lose some of their reading ability over the summer months if they do not continue to read while they are out of school. Summer reading programs help maintain academic achievement and are a proven tool to help bridge this gap.
The TDSRC inspires kids to explore the fun of reading their way—the key to building a lifelong love of reading. The benefits of the Club are clear: recent surveys indicate that 87% of kids read more often or the same amount over the summer, and 96% of parents/caregivers agreed that their child maintained or improved their reading skills over the summer!
Kids, tweens, & teens can read ebooks, read-along books, graphic novels, audiobooks, and more. Fuel their love of reading digitally! .
Our library staff have put together free crafts and activities to enjoy with your family this summer!
As our longtime local sponsors continue to face COVID-19 challenges, we encourage everyone who enjoys the TD Summer Reading Club to remember our great community businesses and support them this summer wherever possible!
