Our library branches are open. Please respect the physical space of those sharing the library with you.

Safety procedures 

Here's what you can expect when you visit the library:

• Visitors must follow current Provincial regulations.
• The library provides masks for those who need one during their visit.
• Patrons should self-screen and sanitize their hands before entering the building (sanitizer is provided at all entry points and throughout the branches). 
• The library may enforce capacity limits should physical distancing become difficult to maintain.
• Patrons should respect the physical space of other library visitors and practice physical distancing etiquette. 
• High touch surfaces are cleaned more frequently.
• Self-checkout units have been updated to reduce the number of touch interactions during checkout.
• Parents should keep their children close to prevent accidentally entering the physical space of other library visitors.
• Patrons who are ill or who have reason to believe they have come in contact with COVID-19 should not visit the library, per recommendations set out by the government and public health officials.

Modified services

To help prevent the spread of COVID-19, the following in-branch services will be modified or unavailable:

• Public internet computer use will be limited to a maximum of 90 minutes per patron, per day.
  • Computers are still available on a first come, first-served basis. Please plan your visit accordingly as you may have to wait longer than usual for a computer.
• Study areas and casual sitting areas are currently available.
• Children's Early Literacy stations are available on a limited basis.
• Staff may only be able to provide limited assistance to patrons using our public computers, collections, and other services.
• Tech Coach appointments with the Brant Skills Centre are not available. 
• Online programming for children, teens, and adults will continue.

In-person program procedures

Patrons participating in-person at library programs are strongly encouraged to wear a mask/face covering.

This policy is consistently reviewed and may change as COVID risks change during the warmer months.
